Unexpected Things.

Last night was the very first time that I have felt scared in my entire life. My mom had a slip and fall in our kitchen when she forgot to put up our washing machine hose inside the toilet. As she was about to put the hose, she accidentally slip and fall due to the waters that was already on the floor and since it was dark she was unable to see that the water from the washing machine have been run through the whole kitchen. (Bear with me for my english, I just woke up from my one hour nap and I`m literally tired)

During all the commotion, I was inside my room using my phone and getting ready to sleep as I have work the next day. But I heard a loud "thud", assuming it was nothing I just continued using my phone. Till I heard my 3rd sister calling my name, I quickly ran out and that`s where I saw my dad holding onto my mom on the floor. I panicked and quickly called my 3rd aunt and asked whether I could borrow her car so that my dad could drive us to NUH. It was almost 10pm when it happend, I couldn`t stay focus and I was scared.

While inside the car on our way to NUH, my hands kept shivering, although it was just a slip and fall I couldn`t stopped thinking what would happen if my mom was not conscious at that time. I requested urgent leave to my boss, in case that my mom had to be admitted in the hospital. True enough, she had to stay for one night as the back of her head was bruised and it was huge. The doctor wanted her to stay for one night so that they could monitor her bruise, since it was no ordinary bruise and it was huge than a normal bruise. Then again, the nurse wouldn`t let me stay with her, so I stayed outside the hospital for an hour, within those time the nurse called me as she wanted my mom`s IC.

I went back to the counter and gave her the IC, afterwards I went back to my usual spot in the hospital and slept for a mere 10mins. I was woken up by the sound of my cellphone, my mom called me to informed me that she was transferred to a ward, so I went back to her and make sure she was in her ward and slept. It was 2.30am and I decided to went back home since there was no way for me to sleep or even rest, not to mention that my cellphone was almost dead. The nurse would call me if my mom would be discharged so I would not have to worry so much.

Thank god, this morning I got a call from my mom that she was discharged from the hospital. I quickly fetched her from the hospital, brought her food and went back home. So far the bruise had simmer (?) down. The only thing that is uncomfortable for her is that her whole body is tensed, so I told her to sleep once we got home. Fair enough she did and so did I, slept for merely an hour as I`m afraid I won`t be able to sleep at night and knowing that I have work tomorrow morning.

This situation had taught me one thing, I don`t know if its even related to this but us kids should not take advantage of our parents. With just a slight accident I was already panicking, and thinking that "what would happend if she had died during that fall?". If my mom was not conscious at that time of the accident, I wouldn`t know what to do and truthfully I would be drawn back to my depression. Alhamdulillah that my mom is strong and nothing serious had happend to her. I hope she can still be strong and live as long as possible because I can`t imagine a world without her.
