Investiture 2015 - The day we stepped down

Time checked -  1.02am

Yes I`m finally updating my blog for god knows how long haha, sincere apologies for my overwhelming laziness. Yesterday was the day that my fellow excos and I finally stepped down as being the excos for Student Council. Yes you might be thinking... "wait... you? a Student Council? WHOOOOOAAAAAA.

Exactly, one year ago I decided to challenge myself to join a leadership CCA to see whether if I could really become a leader and lead people. Yes in my previous years I was nominated to become the class monitor and also the "good model pupil" award but it has never been that close of becoming a REAL leader. Once I entered ITE, instantly I went to sign up as a Student Council member in mid February if I`m not wrong. After sign ups was over, I had received a message from my fellow exco named "H" saying that I was chosen to become a member of Student Council. Literally my head went "BOOOOM".

After several weeks, the day of nominations for being the next batch of excos finally came. Let me remind you again that in order for you to get to an excos position your GPA will have to be atleast I repeat atleast 2.9 and above. Which in my case my GPA well it was 2.9 exactly.. yes my GPA was that bad but who cares, I was able to get into exco training with the help of my chairman Harjit. I was thrilled that I was able to go into exco training and maybe get into my dreamed exco position which was "Vice President". So we had 2 rounds of exco training, I`m gonna skipped all the way to the actual results day cause well it was hella dramatic during the exco training. In the end I was able to get Chairman of Project Committee which was not my dream exco position but hey I did tried my best and was able to get a position.

In this one year, I was able to experienced hardships and responsibilities, when I mean responsibilities I meant taking care of your 30 over project babies whom they constantly would call you "Mom" for god knows what reasons. Yet I was pleased to have them as my babies, I wouldn`t be able to experienced different problems. After a few months, it was the time for us to pick a new batch of excos to lead the future members of Student Council. Sadly I wasn`t able to see my babies go through the exco training as my internship had started, although I was able to attend a few pledge training for their upcoming Investiture day. Soon after the actual day of the Investiture had come, the day where we pass down our positions to the rightful students whom they can lead the Student Council with pride. It is also the last day I could see my babies and let go of them, you know the feeling of a mother letting her children settled in with their own families? Yeah that kind of feeling is just too sad yet I feel happy for them.

To the incoming new batch of excos, I wish you all the best for the future and please lead the Council well and with pride. Once again congratulations to those who have gotten your dream positions.

Here it is.. the outgoing excos of Student Council. You guys are the best that had happend in my life, be it good or bad. We have our ups and downs and yet we were able to overcome those hardships and still become one. Thank you for being by my side and constantly guiding me through this one year especially Ms D. As of today you are my role model, I would want to achieve my goals the same how you were able to complete your assignments for NTU *winks*.

Till next time with more updates ~~
